The Resort at Marina Village opened its doors in December 2009 featuring 263 guest rooms on 19 floors overlooking the Caloosahatchee River, San Carlos Bay and the Gulf of Mexico in the Fort Myers/Sanibel area. Well-appointed accommodations range from intimate studio-style rooms to a 1,912-square-foot, three-bedroom deluxe suite. Meeting space totals 10,000 square feet with two 3,150-square-foot ballrooms – the "strictly business" 1,368-square-foot Calusa Conference Room and the open-air Tarpon Terrace, ideal for events with a water view.
Other amenities at this full-service condominium resort include concierge services and full-service spa, an upscale restaurant and bar, state-of-the-art fitness center, shops and restaurants at Marina Village and a deep-water marina. A little farther north, but still on Florida's West coast, the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Resort & Spa also opened its doors in December. The Mediterranean-inspired yet contemporary resort overlooks the Gulf of Mexico and is less than 30 minutes from both Tampa International Airport (TPA) and St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport (PIE).
