Renowned Cheeca Lodge to Reopen
Jeffrey Baldassarre, director of marketing at Cheeca Lodge & Spa in the Florida Keys wants to be sure planners know that on December 15, 2009, Cheeca will proudly reopen its Main Lodge building and 62 new premier oceanfront and island-view suites. Renovation Update: Included in the rebuild was an additional meeting room featuring sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean. The new room brings the reconfigured and updated conference center space to 4,683-square-feet. After the meeting, groups can take their choice of outdoor event venues, from the signature 525-foot Cheeca Pier to a private Tahitian-style spa lagoon or a cruise aboard the resort's own 39-passenger motorized catamaran.
On the Water: Set on 27 oceanfront acres in Islamorada (just a 90-minute drive from Miami), Cheeca Lodge & Spa is ideal for incentive groups. Top-performing attendees will enjoy the resort's snorkeling lagoon. A fishing excursion in "the sportfishing capital of the world" can build healthy team competition. Divers and snorklers in

your group can discover North America’s only living, natural coral barrier reef at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. Other water sports include sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and kiteboarding.
Revitalize Your Employees: Landlubbers can take a breather at the newly expanded Spa at Cheeca with seven treatment rooms and poolside cabanas. A challenging game of tennis on six all-weather lighted courts or a round on the manicured greens of Cheeca's Jack Nicklaus designed nine-hole, par-three golf course are also available.

Group Dining Options: Upon reopening, Cheeca's on-site restaurants Atlantic's Edge and Nikai Sushi will be showing off their new look to groups. Concept Chef Dean James Max, recognized as a "Great Regional Chef of America" by the James Beard Foundation will bring his expertise to Atlantic's Edge. Groups can dine indoors or alfresco with an ocean view at both Atlantic's Edge and Nikai Sushi.
