We know how hectic a meeting professional's life can be and want to give you a chance to escape to the Sunshine State for a getaway of your own. Since January 2009, VISIT FLORIDA has invited meeting professionals to register to win a Fabulous Florida Getaway. So far, planners have won complimentary getaways provided by VISIT FLORIDA and The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau; South Walton Tourist Development Council; the Naples, Marco Island & Everglades Convention & Visitors Bureau ; and the Emerald Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Getaway No. 1 to Greater Fort Lauderdale: Judy Williamson, a meeting professional with Arcadis in Syracuse, NY was our first winner and escaped last February compliments of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau and VISIT FLORIDA. Judy told us "I was very excited and thrilled about winning! The trip was fabulous – from a great flight on AirTran to the ground transportation, accommodations, at the Westin Diplomat, the food, the activities – everything was perfect. My favorite CVB is the Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB – by far the BEST CVB I have ever worked with and I would very much like to visit the area again. Getaway No. 2 to South Walton: Ellen Hyatt, Carriage Services in Houston, TX was unavailable for comment but will be traveling to Northwest Florida's South Walton. Director of Sales & Special Events, Pamela Watkins at the South Walton Tourist Development Council put together a "wow" of a package for Ellen to enjoy.
Getaway No. 3 to Naples, Marco Island & Everglades: Feborah Dixon, CMP, Society for Human Resources Management in Alexandria, VA will be heading to the Naples and Marco Island area in Southwest Florida for a well-deserved vacation from planning 100 meetings per year. The Naples, Marco Island, Evergades Convention and Visitors Bureau will welcome Feborah to Paradise 
Jacksonville Getaway starts January 24

I kept looking at the letter over and over! Feborah has held many meetings in Florida, but is very excited about discovering the Naples and Marco Island area.
Getaway No. 4 to Emerald Coast (Destin/Fort Walton Beach: Our newest winner is Amy Treworgy, Events Specialist at Genzyme Corporation in Cambridge, MA. Like our other winners, Amy was very surprised to be the winner of the Emerald Coast getaway, compliments of The Emerald Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau. An events specialist at Genzyme for over two years, Amy also plans many Florida meetings, but is looking forward to a new experience on the Emerald Coast.
