| | March of Dimes event at Jungle Island | One-of-a-Kind Events at Jungle Island In August of this year, I ran into Sandy Edwards, Jungle Island's director of sales, at the Florida Governor's Conference on Tourism hosted by the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach. I mentioned to Sandy that I had always wanted to see Jungle Island's liger - a rare mix of a lion and tiger that weighs in at about 900 pounds. The next day, there I was, marveling at the 900-pound beast and experiencing a tropical escape in the middle of busting Miami.
Especially interesting for me as a certified meeting planner was to learn about all the unique settings the park has to offer for meetings and events, both inside and outside the ballroom. In fact, Jungle Island is one of Miami's premier attractions, ideal for conference attendees to see and interact with hundreds of exotic animals during a pre- or post stay or a free afternoon during the conference. However, there are also plenty of unique opportunities when it comes to meetings and events in the Jungle.
