Pre & Post Meeting Ideas
Here are some great pre- and post-meeting ideas to share with your attendees
- Watch the pigskin fly during a Jacksonville Jaguars football game, August (pre-season) through December. Jacksonville has also played host to the ACC Championship game and annually hosts The Gator Bowl.
- Need a culture shock? Check out the permanent and traveling exhibits at the kid-friendly Museum of Science and History and Museum of Contemporary Art (known as MOSH and MOCA, respectively, to locals and those in the know). Appreciate more art within The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens, renowned for its collection of early Meissen porcelain and formal gardens.
- Shop, dine, and be entertained at the lively Jacksonville Landing. The open courtyard often hosts live music, and many venues stay open late for those who love the nightlife.
- Step back into history with a tour of the once slave-owned Kingsley Plantation and a replica 16th-century French settlement at Fort Caroline National Memorial. Both are located within the 46,000-acre Timucuan Ecological and Historical Preserve.
- Meet feathered, furry, scaled, and sleek new animal friends such as rare whooping cranes, jaguars, Nile crocodiles, and African elephants at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.
- Explore the 20-foot bluff along Big Talbot Island State Park and see "skeletons" of live oaks and cedar trees that once lined the shore of the park’s "boneyard beach."
- Swim, float, paddle, or fish along the picturesque St. Johns River. If you have a few extra days, rent a houseboat and take a family adventure cruising along the peaceful waters.
- Stroll through the historic districts of Riverside-Avondale and San Marco for superb dining and shopping.
- Catch a show at the restored, Art Deco-styled Ritz Theater, which, along with the La Villa Museum, is rich in African-American history. The theater was once part of the Chitlin Circuit, hosting the likes of Ray Charles and other blues greats.
- Tee off with the help of Florida’s First Coast of Golf. The organization can set up tee times and put together golf packages at area courses and resorts.
