Subscribers to Meetings and Conventions magazine have voted to honor the Daytona Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau with the 2009 Gold Service Award. This prestigious annual industry award recognizes only those convention and visitors bureaus that display exemplary staff professionalism and offer expert assistance with site selection and inspections, ground transportation planning and guidance on local attractions, vendors and services.
"Customer service is extremely important to the CVB's meetings and conventions department and this recognition really speaks to our longstanding commitment to excellence," says Daytona Beach Area CVB President/CEO Sharon Mock.
Ocean Center Savings But there's even more to talk about regarding Daytona meetings and conventions. The stunning 200,000 square-foot Ocean Center convention complex, fresh from a $76 million expansion, is offering the Ocean Center Hot Dates Program. First-time client bookings in August, September, October and November of 2010 and beyond will get an additional 10% discount on the center's already affordable facility rental rates. On-the-water dining: Daytona Beach welcomes the StarLite Princess, an authentic paddlewheeler, as a unique event option. Up to 250 guests can be accommodated on the StarLite Princess during its May-September annual schedule.
