Morning
Begin the day with a narrated tour of historic St. Augustine aboard an open-air trolley. The tour includes stops at Flagler College (the former Ponce De Leon Hotel), Memorial Presbyterian Church, and the Colonial Spanish Quarter Museum, the Castillo de San Marcos, the oldest masonry fort in the continental U.S., plus many more of St. Augustine’s historic sites.
Afternoon
Enjoy a relaxing lunch overlooking the Matanzas Bay at the White Room. Then explore galleries that feature works of renowned local artists and shop for exciting treasures in the unique boutique shops in the historic downtown St. Augustine.
Evening
Pull the entire day’s activities together with a story of St. Augustine in grand style with a gala event at the elegant Lightner Museum, the former Alcazar Hotel built in 1888. Start the evening with historic characters from Florida’s past in the gilded lobby with appearances that include a welcome by railroad tycoon Henry Flagler and a musical presentation by Maria Pacetti, a 17th-century St. Augustine settler, and St. Augustine’s founder, Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles. Then enjoy an elegant gourmet banquet in the gallery which was once the hotel’s indoor swimming pool.
