Arrival

Following your arrival to the Emerald Coast, your group can enjoy their first taste of the area's undeniably fresh seafood at one of the many restaurants located right on the Gulf with beautiful sunset views.

On the way back to your hotel, some members of your group might want to hop off at one of the many restaurants that feature live music, or a zany dueling piano show, as can be found at Howl at the Moon on Okaloosa Island.

After breakfast, head to the harbor for a dolphin cruise on one of the area's excursion power vessels including Olin Marler’s Miss Florida and Hannah Marie, the Southern Star Dolphin Cruise, Boogies Glass Bottom Boat and two vessels called Sea Blaster.

After lunch at one of the nearby eateries on the harbor, your group might like to split up to pursue different interests. Part of your group can shop and enjoy Destin Commons, an open-air lifestyle center featuring upscale and casual dining with indoor/outdoor seating, RAVE Motion Picture Cineplex, Bass Pro Shops World Wide Sportsman, Belk Department Store, and more than 70 specialty shops. Meanwhile, those more interested in dropping that putt than shopping 'til they drop can hit the links at over 1,000 holes of golf in the area.

Top off another fantastic dinner on the Emerald Coast by taking in a show! With a thriving performing arts scene, the Emerald Coast area presents theater-goers with memorable productions, from the latest and greatest in Broadway musicals to classic masterpieces of the stage. The OWC Arts Center in Niceville and the Fort Walton Beach Civic Auditorium offer musicals, comedies and cutting-edge dramas. Modern or classical ballets performed by the Northwest Florida Ballet Company can be found at locations across the Emerald Coast.

Start the day at Florida's Gulfarium, where your group will enjoy live performances by talented dolphins and sea lions, experience the antics and the mayhem of feeding time for otters and sharks, and explore marine life exhibits showcasing alligators to tropical penguins (yes, penguins!).

Afternoon activities could include a free tasting at Destin Winery, where your travelers will be surprised by the wide variety of unusual and unusually delicious wines. Then, it's "off we go into the wild blue yonder!" The U.S. Air Force Armament Museum, located on Eglin Air Force Base, actually surrounds most of the Fort Walton Beach area, and admission is FREE. This unique museum features Air Force armaments and the airplanes used to deliver them. Aircraft on display include WWII-era planes such as the B-52 and P51 Mustang, the F-80 Shooting Star from the Korean War, the Cold War's SR-71 Blackbird and the Vietnam War-era UH-1 "Huey," as well as modern fighter jets and more.

Your travelers can "wet" their appetites for dinner, or "wash" it all down, with a relaxing cruise aboard one of Destin’s beautiful sail-powered vessels, AJ’s Silent Lady, the Daniel Webster Clements, or the Nathaniel Bowditch. Each of these ships offers a fun and safe way to experience the beauty of the Gulf of Mexico. All of these cruises allow your guests to bring their choice of snacks and beverages aboard, and the Silent Lady serves complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks.

Departure

Before your group bids a fond farewell to The Emerald Coast, stop at The Indian Temple Mound Museum and Camp Walton Schoolhouse, located in downtown Fort Walton Beach. "The Mound" features over 4,000 artifacts and the mound itself is a National Historic Landmark. The schoolhouse was the first school built in Fort Walton Beach, then known as Camp Walton. Inside, it is restored to reflect the look and feel of its opening in 1912.

Then, take one last look at the sugar-white sand and emerald green water as your group begins its trip home.
